Well, the simplest answer to this question is that the German carmaker has been working on its India 2.0 scheme which promotes introducing new and more advanced models in the nearing future.

On the contrary, it is also being said that the brand has no plans to introduce a replacement for the Polo, anytime soon. Another reason for discontinuing the Polo is said to be its dwindling sales number (1,000 units a month).

As of now the VW Polo and the Vento are the only models are based on the brands older PQ platform.
