Not too long ago we reported that Kia was indeed planning to launch the mid-lifecycle of the Carens MPV somewhere by early 2025. On top of that, a heavily camouflaged version of the same was also tested on Indian roads. But then we could only spot the facelifted version of the Carens from a distance. But now, a closer shot of the upcoming Maruti Suzuki XL6/Ertiga, Toyota Rumion, and Renault Triber reveals the actual changes which were just mere speculations earlier.
- Starting from the front, we do get to see a completely redesigned front grille and headlamp setup which is quite similar to the Kia’s new design language.
- We might as well get to see a 360-degree camera, with a new set of ally wheels.
- The rear looks to be heavily camouflaged which makes identifying any feature very difficult. But as per leading media reports, it is expected to have a similar design structure as the 2024 Kia Seltos.
- We also expected to see a first in segment ADAS tech.4 in the upcoming kia Carens facelift.
- Talking about the mechanical specifications, this facelift will get no changes and will come equipped with the same 115hp, 1.5-litre NA petrol; 160hp, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol; and 116hp, 1.5-litre diesel powertrains. Gearbox options include a 6-speed manual, 6-speed iMT, a 6-speed torque converter automatic, and a 7-speed dual-clutch auto.
- It is also being reported that, with the Carens facelift, Kia might as well introduce the Carens EV which has also been in Kia’s pipeline since the earlier version of the car was launched.
- With its launch, it is expected to come with the same price tag of Rs 10-19 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom). It will also continue to lock horns with its current rivals the Maruti Suzuki XL6/Ertiga, Toyota Rumion, Renualt Triber and the Toyota Innova Crysta.
