If you are planning to buy a car and you have a budget of ₹5 lakhs, you’ve landed at the right place. If you are still figuring out, why buying a used car over a new car makes sense, click here. And, now, let’s take a look at 5 used cars that will make sense instead of buying a new car in the restricted budget of ₹5 lakhs.
Note: This article is not at all sponsored by Spinny. It’s just that they seemed to be a trustworthy source for good cars at good prices with a detailed report on the condition of the car. All the cars mentioned below have very minute or no issues at all, mostly with the exteriors. You can check in detail about every car by clicking on the image which will take you to the website.
Tata Tigor NRG – ₹4,94,000
The true Tata fans very well know what the NRG means. The 1.2-litre Revotron engine is capable of producing 84hp of power and a peak torque of 114Nm. It has a 5-speed manual transmission on offer. The NRG cars are fun to drive, especially when this one has only been driven for 16,649 km. It is a 2018 model which means is a BS4 model and not too old. Being a petrol-driven car, this car still has over 12 years left on the RC and can make a really good option if you love performance and a sturdy car.
Hyundai Elite i20 – ₹4,87,000
Now, this one’s my favourite on the list, and on the i20 lineup. It has got style, elegance, performance, safety and features that one will look for in a car. I am in love with the Hyundai i20 elite and this particular one, which has been driven for 48,134 km will come right in your budget. It is from the year 2015 which means it still has 9 years left on the RC. It has a 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 81.3hp of power and a peak torque of 114Nm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual. The variant we are looking at is the Sportz variant.
Honda City – ₹4,71,000
There was a time when Honda City used to look good. Although looks are subjective, still, it is what it is. This 2011 Honda City has only been driven 46,606 km which is nothing for a car like this. The 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine under the hood is music to the years as well as capable enough to produce 116hp of power and a peak torque of 146Nm. It is the only car on the list that is offering an automatic transmission under 5 lakhs. Just a few dents and scratches on the outer side, this car can make a good option if you are looking for style and comfort along with a good performing engine.
Maruti Suzuki S-cross – ₹5,00,000
The borderline! This was the first product from Maruti Suzuki under the NEXA channel. With the global build quality and a powerful DDiS 200 engine under the hood, S-Cross makes a really good used car under or should I say right at ₹5,00,000. The diesel engine is capable of producing 200Nm of torque and is a really performance-oriented engine. You also get a mileage of around 24kmpl which is really good. The only issue that you will find is that it is a 2015 model and is a diesel car, it only has a validity of 10 years in total.
Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire – ₹4,70,000
And how can a list be complete without this sub-compact sedan? This particular 2016 VXi has got 41,041 km on the odometer which for a Swift Dzire is not even 1/4th of a lifetime. Under the hood is a 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 86hp of power and a peak torque of 114Nm. You will get a 5-speed manual transmission in this one. And with the brand name, you already know that service and mileage are not an issue at all.
Again, I am not promoting any brand here, it’s just that I got a variety of options to choose from, in one place. You can visit your nearest second-hand car dealer for finding a car of your own choice too.
