Hyundai has officially revealed the images of the all-new Hyundai Casper ahead of its South Korea launch. The revealed images show the exterior of the vehicle. It’s a micro SUV and will be the smallest SUV in Hyundai’s global portfolio. Let’s take a look at what we know so far.

How does the Hyundai Casper look from the outside?

Hyundai Casper’s design is an unusual and quirky one. People might or might not like it in India. It features unique design details with a boxy and upright silhouette. The bumper has been adjusted with the main circular headlamps with LED rings. Its headlamps setup is a split-LED one just like other Hyundai SUVs. Above the gloss black panel, there are LED DRLs with the brand logo.

The silver grille on the Hyundai Casper has triangular motifs on it which is something different. It might be having one more design form which is a gloss black grille with circular motifs. The whole vehicle has body cladding on it like the other SUVs and a faux silver skid plate as well. The bonnet is also flat in design.

One more thing that catches the eye easily is the squared-off and heavily flared wheel arches. The B-pillar comes in the same color as the body while A-colour has been blacked out. The C-pillar has included the door panels with it nicely. While it gets alloy wheels, Casper also features roof rails.

Talking about the rear side of the car, we can see glossy black finishing in the upper half and the body color in the lower half. The bumper is integrated with the circular tail-lamps while coordinating with the headlamps’ position. The rear side also features a faux silver skid plate. Another unique thing about Casper is the triangular LED light motifs at the rear end.

What Engine and Transmission will the new Hyundai Casper come with?

If we talk about the Korean edition, the car might feature a 1.0-liter turbo-petrol and a 1.0-liter naturally aspirated engine variant. The 1-liter TGDI turbo-petrol will produce 100hp just like the Hyundai Venue as it also features the same engine variant in India. On the other hand, the 1.0-liter naturally aspirated engine will produce 76hp of power. It will come with a 4-speed automatic transmission option in both variants.

But it is still unknown as to what Hyundai will offer in the Indian version of Hyundai Casper. If the company focuses on keeping the costs low, it can introduce the car with Santro’s 1.1-litre four-cylinder engine or Nios’ 1.2-litre four-cylinder unit for the low-spec models. On the other hand, the high-spec model can get the engine same as Korea i.e. 1.0-litre turbo-petrol unit.

It is not officially confirmed by Hyundai as to what will be the dimensions of the Casper. But the leaked reports suggest that it will be 3,595mm long, 1,595mm wide, and 1,575mm in height. The new Casper is shorter and narrower than the Santro but a bit taller and it is based on the same K1 platform. It is expected to be placed below Hyundai Venue in the SUV series. Hyundai Venue measures 3,995mm in length for reference.

How does it look from the inside?

The company hasn’t officially revealed the interior of the Hyundai Casper. But some spy pictures are doing rounds in the market. They reveal that it might get a free-standing infotainment system above the dashboard. The interior might get white upholstery. Hyundai will surely fill this new vehicle with new technologies and features such as connected car tech.
