Mahindra Bolero Neo

Mahindra Bolero Neo

Mahindra has launched the all-new Bolero Neo yesterday, i.e 13th of July 2021. Some might say: It is a rebadged version of the TUV300. Whatever be the case, the design elements and features do make it one of the Boleros. Today, we take a look at 5 interesting things about the all-new Mahindra Bolero Neo. Let’s get started!

  1. It gets Multi-Terrain technology

    Multi-Terrain Technology

The Mahindra Bolero Neo gets a multi-terrain technology that will allow it to cruise through any terrain given. The technology allows locking one of the rear wheels if it is lifted above the ground and transfers the power to the other wheel. Now, this may sound like a 4WD tech in a 2WD which it is. So, you can go on mild offroading with the Neo!

  2. First Bolero to feature a touchscreen infotainment system

Mahindra Bolero Neo gets 17.8cm Touchscreen Infotainment System

Earlier, Mahindra Bolero was known to be a good SUV but now with the Neo version launch, Bolero gets loaded with technology. One such is the advanced 17.8 touchscreen infotainment system, the first time in a Bolero. It also gets smartphone connectivity with the Blue Sense app.

  3. Mahindra Bolero Neo is a Rear-Wheel-Drive SUV!

    Rear Wheel Drive

And that is the first time in the segment. Bolero Neo rivals the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet and so on, all of which are front-wheel-drive. Neo on the other hand gets an RWD! And we all know what fun an RWD car can be. If not, we’ll soon be bringing a comparison article between RWD, AWD and 4WD and let you decide which one’s better.

  4. SUV true to its roots!

The only ladder on frame sub 4 meter SUV

Now, all of the SUVs or so-called SUVs come with a monocoque chassis which actually makes them a pseudo-SUV. Mahindra Bolero Neo on the other hand has got its chassis from the 3rd generation ladder-on-frame chassis which is also found on the Scorpio and the Thar. We have already seen how good the chassis is in terms of safety. And that brings me to one of the very important aspects, Mahindra Bolero Neo is loaded with features dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD, Corner Braking Control (CBC), reverse parking sensors and front disc brakes right from the base variant. So, you can actually enjoy being in a real SUV rather than faking your fun in those pseudo-SUVs with bodies made of such steel that can rip in half (You know what I am talking about).

  5. Small yet powerful

    mHawk100 Engine

It’s a sub-4 meter ladder-on-frame SUV. It gets a good amount of features, an RWD and much more. And that’s not all. Mahindra has equipped the all-new Bolero Neo with the BS6 mHawk100 engine. The 3-cylinder diesel engine produces 100hp of power @3,750rpm and a peak torque of 260Nm @1,750-2,250rpm. You surely need extra torque when you take the roads less travelled, right?

And that’s not all about the Bolero Neo. You are getting all this at an attractive starting price of ₹8,48,001! Now, this does make the Neo a value for money proposition. What are your thoughts about the TUV300? Oh sorry, I meant the all-new Bolero Neo!
